For over 35 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario ("the Chapter") has been improving the health and well-being of children and their families through the creation of a home-away-from-home for families of children with life-threatening illnesses who are receiving specialized treatment at local hospitals. Established in 1985, the Chapter has experienced significant growth with the original 15 bedroom house expanding to 34 rooms in 2011, the introduction of a Family Room at London Children’s Hospital in 2012 and the opening of the first in Canada House-within-a-Hospital in Windsor Regional Hospital in 2016. The Chapter has experienced significant growth in the last five years and with the launch of our new strategic plan, we will be expanding services in order to better serve our community. We are looking for an individual who shares our passion and has a proven track record of successful community engagement and fundraising. An integral part of the team, the Fund Development & Community Engagement Officer is responsible for a varied portfolio, providing support to the leadership team. As the primary contact in Windsor/ Essex for Development and Communications initiatives of Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario (RMHC-SWO), with a focus on building and maintaining relationships with key community stakeholders to raise the profile and increase support for RMHC-SWO. This position will serve as RMHC-SWO representative for cheque presentations, donor meetings, speaking engagements, and community fundraising events. The position will be the lead contact for RMHC-SWO Windsor-centered signature events and other community initiatives including the Red Shoe Society Windsor.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- University degree in related field
- CFRE designation preferred or evidence of working towards CFRE designation
- Experience working with Donor Software- Experience with Raisers Edge preferred
- Skilled in public speaking, persuasive writing, active listening and ability to adapt messaging to different audiences various social media platforms.
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Demonstrated understanding of fundraising standards and processes (including knowledge of payroll giving, major gifts, legacy gifts and CRA guidelines)
