Position Description

Grow Cook Learn - Social Media/Marketing Student Work-Placement (8 weeks x 30 hours. $14/hour)

Grow Cook Learn is a community program that focuses on our collective well being by organizing food security projects that bring together individuals, organizations and resources to foster a healthier population.

Job Description:

-Create posts on Grow Cook Learn’s social media pages that are consistent with Grow Cook Learn’s principles.

-Researching interesting content and ways to engage the community through social media and the LCRC website

-Create a Case for Support document alongside LCRC staff

-Take photos at our community garden for use on social media and website

-Attend community events as a representative of Grow Cook Learn, promoting events in the community and post pictures while attending events.

-promote LCRC and Grow Cook Learn events through social media and in the community

-Volunteer coordination 

Preferred Qualifications

-Student from one of the following programs: Not-for-Profit Management, Marketing, Food & Nutrition

-Experience with managing social media accounts

-An interest in cooking, nutrition, gardening, or food literacy

Canada Summer Jobs Requirements

-Must be between ages 18 and 30 years of age

-Must have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year

-Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment

-Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
