Leadership Beyond the Box Session #3

How to Be a Positive Leader
Wednesday, April 8

This session will focus on how leaders can enable positive change at work, especially when confronted with crises, set-backs, and hopelessness on the job. You will learn how to build on key positive leadership practices as described and illustrated from the book How to Be a Positive Leader.

The workshop will provide hands-on activities, short-term exposure, and long-term support for leaders interested in adopting positive responses to the small and big challenges they face.

This session requires preparation. All participants will be asked to complete a free online version of the character strength survey and come prepared to both share and illustrate their top strength in a small group setting.

The workshop includes a combination of mini-lectures, mini-cases, story-telling and group work. At the end of the workshop, participants will have completed a positive leadership exercise that includes helpful suggestions from their group members and a short-list of customized practices they can implement for the specific challenge they currently face.
