- Anne Becker, CEO

Helen Connell

Engaging volunteers and connecting them to rewarding, available opportunities empowers individuals, strengthens the nonprofit sector and builds community…Pillar has worked hard to become a voice for the nonprofit sector.

Community Living London

As a member agency of Pillar Nonprofit Network, we have experienced many benefits to this relationship. As a new Executive Director, I have also benefited from this membership. The educational opportunities they have coordinated are relevant and useful as well – for example board diversity and media relations. We are proud to be members of Pillar Nonprofit Network, and believe they play an integral in this community.

- Michelle Palmer, Executive Director

Children’s Health Foundation

Children's Health Foundation values our membership with Pillar Nonprofit Network and sees it as an important pillar of the community. As a member, we find increasing value from their services. The weekly bulletins provide invaluable information in one source and also highlight funding and professional development opportunities within the local nonprofit sector. Pillar's website is a very useful tool, providing an efficient way to match volunteer opportunities available at our organization to interested individuals in the community.

- Debbie Comuzzi, President and CEO

Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

In my day to day work recruiting, supporting, mentoring and recognizing volunteers, I rely on local volunteer centres such as Pillar to keep me up to date on the landscape, uniqueness, trends and events taking place in London, Ontario. Pillar is second to none in the programming and service delivery that they are able to offer their members. We are thrilled to be members of Pillar and look forward to their upcoming initiatives and programs.

- Faiza Kanji, Volunteer Programs Officer

Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada

Pillar brings a united voice to the not-for-profit sector, helping us to address common issues. Pillar’s ability to effectively partner with the community has brought low-cost educational opportunities to us. Such support helps us keep administrative costs low and ensures more funding available for our programs and services which are critical to the brain tumour community.

- Susan Marshall, Executive Director

Northwest London Resource Centre

The Northwest London Resource Centre is a member of the Pillar Non Profit Network. This organization is an instrumental resource to non profits requiring information and other services such as training. Most recently we participated in the Board Diversity Workshop and it was a great opportunity for professional development. I find the monthly newsletter informative and filled with current issues and trends as well as job postings. The Northwest London Resource Centre has successfully recruited volunteers for programs through Pillar. I would highly recommend non-profit organizations to become a member of the Pillar Non Profit Network.

- Candas Whitlock, Executive Director

Regional Mental Health Care London

A service which has turned out to be much more valuable than I anticipated is the opportunity to post volunteer positions. We post our most immediate needs and regularly have responses who identify that they viewed our posting on the Pillar website. This is been a wonderful surprise and has become a significant recruitment tool. Pillar plays a vital role in the daily activities of voluntary and nonprofit organizations in our area. Now that Pillar has become ingrained in our activities, I can’t imagine how we managed without it.

- Gloria Smith, Coordinator of Volunteers

AIDS Committee of London

Pillar provides the AIDS Committee of London with opportunities to make meaningful connections with local agencies doing similar work. The information they share, and the training opportunities they make available are valuable resources to a small non-profit.

- Chris McInnis, Director of Community Development

Heart-Links

Since we are a small, entirely volunteer organization, Pillar provides the opportunity for our volunteers to build their capacity as board and committee members. We look forward in the near future to using Pillar's volunteer recruitment service. This is our most pressing need - to recruit new board and committee members. As we continue to recruit new volunteers we will certainly continue to use the training programs to enrich their abilities to contribute to our organization.

- Christine Troughton, Board Member

London Community Players

London Community Players has long discussed joining the Pillar network and has just recently acted on those discussions. As a new member, we have been impressed by the number of non-profit volunteer organizations who are members, the quality of the information generated, the topical training sessions available to members and the opportunities for us to engage and share information with other volunteers. We look forward to learning more from you and the members of your organization in the future by the mutual sharing of ideas and experiences.

- Maryse Leitch, Executive Director

Thames Region Ecological Association

We feel the networking, opportunities to bring groups together and support them under an umbrella organization is a valuable tool for the community.

- Diane Szoller, Project Manager

GoodLife Kids Foundation

Pillar has become the organization all non-profits can go to – for direction, information, connections, and a variety of other support services. Pillar Nonprofit Network has made it easier for all in the nonprofit sector to do a better job at fulfilling the mission of our organizations.

- Lisa Burrows, Executive Director

- Mary Secco, Executive Director

I have valued the Childreach membership in Pillar for several years now. I find the member newsletter very informative and helpful. I appreciate the networking opportunities and the chance to collaborate with people working in other not-for-profit sectors. I also appreciate that you bring your perspective and that of your agency to the Childreach Community Council meetings.

- Susan Ryans, Executive Director

CNIB

CNIB has definitely benefited from our association with Pillar as it has provided excellent resources and methods for recruiting volunteers meet the needs of our volunteer programs. We have gained a number of fantastic volunteers who have learned about our organization through the Pillar Nonprofit Network. We are honoured to be associated with Pillar and look forward to continuing this beneficial partnership in the years to come.

- Loralyn Smith, Coordinator Volunteer Services

ClothingWorks

With a staff of two, the Pillar site and Newsletter facilitates insight and a connection to the sector for us...It was important to participate in the Voluntary Sector Employment and Training Needs Study. The resulting compiled information provided me with data I can use when reporting to my funders. Without Pillar we would not have a voice.

- Barbara Jones, Project Coordinator

London and Area Association for Volunteer Administration

Our organization recognizes the importance of both a strong voice for volunteerism and a strong voice for professional volunteer management. Without these voices in the London community, there would be a large negative effect to the multitude of organizations, volunteers and volunteer managers of London, who may count on volunteers or volunteering to meet their needs. Pillar Nonprofit Network has taken amazing strides since its inception and with its new leadership, I predict that the London community will see Pillar's growth and development continue.
