Timeraiser comes to London

Q: Looking to engage skilled and energetic volunteers?
A: The Timeraiser is coming to London for the first time, brought to you in partnership with GenNext.

GenNext, United Way London & Middlesex, Pillar Nonprofit Network, London Community Foundation and London Arts Council are thrilled to collaborate to offer this unique opportunity to London charitable organizations. The call for submissions is now underway and the first London Timeraiser is scheduled for May 13, 2010. The three main objectives of the Timeraiser are to:

  • Connect your organization to skilled and energetic volunteers
  • Raise awareness about your organization in the community
  • Bring together the arts and not-for-profit sectors to create community connections

The Timeraiser is part volunteer fair, part silent art auction and part night on the town. Throughout the evening, participants meet with agencies, like yours, and explore the exciting, innovative and meaningful volunteer roles you have to offer.

Participants pledge to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours (over 12 months) with the organization(s) they connect with at the Timeraiser. Some will pledge more. Participants can also bid on artwork that is on display but rather than money, they bid with volunteer time.

At the end of the evening, we will have raised over 4,000 volunteer hours, invested $10,000 in the careers of local artists, and engaged 200+ volunteers in the community. Important Details:

  • Applications submitted after February 17th will not be reviewed by the selection panel
  • Agencies will be notified by Timeraiser staff regarding the results of the selection
