Position Description

Cheshire supports individuals with physical disabilities and frail/elderly seniors to live independently within their own home.

We are currently recruiting a volunteer to visit with one of our consumers and take the dog out for a short walk. Location is Cherryhill.

Due to accessibility issues, many of our consumers are unable to cook for themselves or leave their homes which includes purchasing groceries. There are also individuals who require a volunteer to go with them while they purchase their groceries.

Consider sharing the gift of your time as it will make a considerable difference for our consumers. One hour a week can mean so much!

Volunteers are under the supervision of and receive ongoing support through the Volunteer Coordinator.

Many volunteer opportunities are accessible by bus. Locations available throughout London.

There is no doubt that the time volunteers spend with consumers is appreciated, as is evident by this quote from one of the consumers we serve:

"I can’t thank (the volunteer) enough. She’s thoughtful, efficient and even takes time to have a chat while she puts my groceries away. I couldn’t ask for more."

Our Volunteers bring kindness and dedication to their roles, and help enhance the quality of life of individuals in our community. We have many opportunities to make a difference in someone’s life.
