Banting House NHS of Canada is a world class museum that gets visitors from around the world who come to learn the story of Sir Fredrick Banting and the discovery of insulin. Volunteers will be required to provide full guided tours in English which may take up to 45 minutes. If volunteers speak a second language they may get opportunities to give tours in that second language. You will receive a tour guide manual and have numerous opportunities to shadow tours before having to go solo. Currently we are looking for weekend tour guides to work one or two, Saturdays or Sundays a month from 11am to 4pm. We also have a Friday shift from 2 to 4pm that you would work every week or a Tuesday shift from 2 to 4pm every other week. We also will be holding numerous special events which we will ask you to also participate in. We do ask that our volunteers commit to a minimum of 5 hours a month and stay for at least 6 months.
Smart Serve is an asset for our special events.
